The Harbor

Food, art, music and salt sauna. Oslo’s new harbour promenade combines sightseeing, history, art, architecture, and a little bit of adventure.

The Harbour Promenade (Havnepromenaden) stretches nine kilometres along Oslo's water front. It ties the city together from east to west, turning different parts of town into a string of great experiences.


The Opera House

The Barcode district lays right next to the opera House where you can take a swim at Sørenga or Tjuvholmen in the summertimes

The spectacular Opera House was designed by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta. Audiences can enjoy world-class opera and concerts on three stages. The Main Auditorium has 1369 seats, Stage 2 has 400 seats and Rehearsal Stage 1 seats 200 people.


The new sculpture park - Ekebergparken

The American newspaper Wall Street Journal recently published a list of five of the world's finest sculpture parks with modern art. On the list we find Oslo's own Ekebergparken sculpture park

Ekeberg Parken Sculpture Park opened in 2012 and quickly became a popular attraction. It contains a number of sculptures by renowned artists, including Renoir, Dali, Malliol, James Turell and Damien Hirst, scattered across a large area.


Mathallen (foodcourt)

Several of the shops and eateries have their own serving areas, but it is also possible to buy food from several different places and enjoy it in the common serving area in the centre, Torget.

Intimate bars in the Strøget passage with art on the walls and great music. This is a place that the young will have alot of fun. Big backyard parties on weekends. Check out following bars when visiting Strøget: Angst, Uhørt, Gamle skobutikken and Ett godt sted

Rent a bike

Oslo is a great city for bicycle trips, with a compact city centre and short distances to major attractions.

Whether you want to see attractions or scenery, or just get some excercise, Oslo has a bike route that suits your needs - anything from relaxing, flat cycle routes to challenging off-road cycling in the hilly forests. You can rent a bike at: www.oslobysykkel.no/en and go cruising in Oslo. Nearest bike station is at Han Nielsens Huges Plass, 10 min walk from here (outside of Åpent Bakeri)
